Fees per session

Therapy should be accessible to all, and individual financial circumstances can vary. For this reason, there are a small number of low fee sessions available.

  • The standard fee for a 50-minute individual therapy session starts at £60/€70.

  • Assessment fees are charged the flat rate of £70/€80.

You are invited to be open and honest about your financial situation during the initial consultation/assessment. Together, we can agree on a fee that works for both sides and ensures that your therapy is sustainable.

Assessments

Cancellations, breaks, no shows and Termination

The counselling contract provided upon engagement will cover most aspects of this, to ensure clarity and alignment.

  • Cancellations are charged in full, unless 15 days notice is provided. Consecutive missed sessions can lead to the end of therapy.

  • Late attendance means that the session end time remains -no extra time is allocated.

  • Rescheduling should not be the norm. However, it is allowed in very exceptional circumstances and pending availability, provided there is sufficient notice (minimum 24h notice).

  • No shows are charged in full.

  • Breaks from therapy are permitted and encouraged for holidays and time off, provided they are scheduled in advance. This is important to ensure there is consistency in the work.

  • Termination of therapy requires at least 2 sessions notice. Abrupt endings are highly discouraged.

Making payments

You will be emailed an invoice after each session, which will display all the required information for payment. Monthly invoices are also available instead of weekly invoices, if preferred.

 FAQs

  • The only requirement is willingness to attend therapy on a consistent basis.

    The first session will be about getting to know you and exploring your key areas of work, with ample support and encouragement.

  • Each session is 50 minutes long. You will usually get a 10 minute reminder when near the end of the session, ensuring you can mindfully end the session and close with any final points.

  • Therapy sessions should take place weekly, except for scheduled breaks or absences. It is open ended and the length of time you will be in therapy for can vary depending on individual circumstances.

  • Yes, a counselling contract is provided. In this contract, a minimum of 18 sessions is recommended. After the initial 18 sessions it is open ended and flexible when it comes to ending therapy

  • Payment in instalments is not available as an option.
    You are expected to pay each session on a weekly basis or receive a monthly invoice if you prefer. However, if your financial circumstances are temporarily affecting payments, we can discuss any special arrangements in our sessions.

  • Client data is strictly confidential and will not be shared anywhere, except for extreme circumstances where there is a need to report criminal activity or in unique cases where there is a substantial risk of harm to self or others.

  • Sometimes, a certain therapist might not be a good fit for you at that point in time. This is natural, and you are welcome to be open and honest about this if it is the case for you. Psychotherapists are trained professionals, and will not take offense if you decide that it is not for you.
